Archaeological Tour
(Algiers – Djamila – Constantine – Tiddis – Guelma – Timgad – El Kantara – Ghoufi Balcony – Tipaza)
The archaeological sites in Algeria stand as a testament to a rich historical legacy, featuring extraordinarily preserved Roman ruins that have been UNESCO World Heritage sites since 1982. These locations reveal ancient cities, theaters, temples, and mosaics that tell the story of the daily life and culture of past civilizations. They serve as symbols of Algeria’s strategic and cultural significance in antiquity.

Itinerary
Day 1: Airport of departure – Algiers
- Arrival at the airport.
- Completion of the immigration formalities.
- Departure for the hotel in Algiers.
- Dinner
Day 2: Algiers
- Breakfast, then departure for a walk to the Grande Poste, an imposing white post office building constructed in 1910 in Neo-Moorish style.
- Visit of the BASTION 23 known as IL PALAZZO DEL RAìS, which brings together all the architecture of the Ottoman period.
- In the end guided visit in the basilica of Nostra Signora d’Africa built in 1855, it was the first church to have welcomed a Black nun.
- Overnight stay in Algiers.
- Dinner
Day 3: Algiers – Djamila – Constantine
- Departure for Djemila.
- Visit to the archaeological site of CUICUL in Djemila, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its baptistery, its Arch of Caracalla and its baths.
- Visit of the archaeological museum.
- Departure for Constantine, ancient CIRTA capital of NUMIDIA.
- Visit of the suspension bridges that connect the rocky spurs on which the city is built.
- Visit of the Moschea Emir Abdelkader, the second-largest mosque in Algeria.
- Exploration of the Museo Cirta, which houses finds from the Numido-Roman era, passing through the Palazzo El Bey from the Ottoman era.
- Overnight stay in Contantine.
- Traditional dinner.
Day 4: Constantine – Tiddis – Guelma
- Visit of the archaeological site TIDDIS, a site famous for its ceramics, 30 km from Constantine.
- Continuation to Guelma.
- Visit of the Hammam DEBBAGH, famous for its thermal springs, known for their therapeutic properties and for being among the hottest waters in the world, with a temperature reaching 97°C.
- Overnight stay in Guelma.
- Dinner
Day 5: Guelma – Timgad
- Departure for Timgad.
- Visit to the archaeological site of Timgad, known as the “Pompeii of Africa”.
- Departure for El Kantara.
- Overnight stay in the area.
Day 6: El Kantara – Balcon de Ghoufi
- Visit to the gorges of El Kantara.
- Continuation to Balcon de Ghoufi.
- Explore the Balcon de Ghoufi, famous for its breathtaking views.
- Pernottamento nella zona
- Dinner
Day 7: Balcon de Ghoufi – Algiers
- Departure for Biskra
- Visit to the palm groves and date market
- Return to Algiers (Local flight)
- Overnight stay in hotel
- Dinner
Day 8: Algiers- Tipaza
- Visit to the Casbah of Algiers, UNESCO heritage site, fortified citadel inhabited by the fishermen of Algiers.
- Departure for Tipaza 70 km from the capital
- Visit to the archaeological site of Tipaza, UNESCO heritage site.
- Return to Algiers and overnight stay in hotel
- Dinner
Day 9: Algiers – Return to the departure airport
- Breakfast, transfer to the airport and return flight

- Means of transport, for the north and central parts, mini van/mini bus (depending on the number of participants) for the south part 4×4 off-road vehicles
